 I am Behind on my Mortgage Payments
— What if I do Nothing? .
If you are behind in your mortgage payments (or even in foreclosure), doing nothing is a very bad option. By not taking any action you are losing what control you may have over the situation. You may lose your home and any equity you may have in your home, your credit report will show a foreclosure on it, you may be forced to move from your home soon after the foreclosure sale occurs, and, if any deficiency is allowed under California law, your lender may sue you in court for the additional money.
